I believe that this was a Royal Navy Establishment during WW 2 , have you any details ?

Hi John, yes it was the HQ for the U.S. Navy, known as U.S.S. Trenuth. They also had their ammunition dump in the G.P.O. garages on Race Hill.

The Grylls family lived here. I have their photo /scrapbook album of 1903-1906.
