Over the years Launceston has paid host to many events and special occasions, including Royal visits. In recent memory many will remember the annual June water fair run under the auspices of Launceston’s Rotary Club, when the river Kensey was damned at Kensey bridge. Unfortunately due to safety concerns this is no longer held. Other events include beating of the bounds, floral dances, the ‘Trigg’ morris men who visit the square every Easter Monday, and of course the annual carnival. Most of these events have been recorded in nostalgic images which the following pages hold for all to see.
