My Mann ancestors owned the “London Inn” from about 1600 to about 1850.
They also had the “Old Shambles”, the adjoining butchery that faced the market square.

    HI

My 3x great grandfather’s occupation in the 1841 Census is entered as Innkeeper living in Church St St Mary Magdalene Launceston. I shouldn’t think you would have any idea what Inn he was keeping or would you. I know it’s a big ask but if I don’t ask I’ll never know.

      Hi Stephen,
At that time there were a couple of other Inns in Church Street as well as the London Inn. There was the Market Inn which I believe was opposite St Mary’s and also the Turks Head which was near the London Inn. So it could have been one of those three.
      Hope that helps.
      Roger
